This is a great place for hikers of all abilities to explore. There are short and long trails that take you out into Alaska. Parking is $5 (there is an automated machine). Beautiful scenery. Bring bear spray and stay with your group.

A friend we had visit once described this hike as “Alaska views without the Alaska work” which says it all! Only about 40mins away and just a still through a valley on flat, maintained trails.

Eagle River Nature Center has access to hiking trails that are particularly beautiful.
