This gorgeous recreational site offers a look at the treeless side of Kodiak Island. Paved all the way out here, and beyond (to the Rocket Launch facility) , the river hosts many red salmon in a good year, and the beaches are quite sandy. Access is limited but it's a great drive and you'll see all kinds of wild life, buffalo, eagles and more.

The Pasagshak River, the outlet to Lake Rose Tead, is approximately three miles long and empties into salt water at the head of Pasagshak Bay. Pasagshak River is considered one of the outstanding sport fishing streams on Kodiak Island and provides thousands of man-hours of angling annually for Dolly Varden, sockeye, pink, chum, and silver salmon. Besides seasonal salmon runs, Pasagshak Bay and area supports a rich and varied constellation of land, coastal and marine wildlife, including brown bear, whales, seals, dolphins, sea bird colonies, eagles, over wintering waterfowl, shrimp and crab. The bay is fished by commercial purse seiners. Take Rezanof Drive West to the Chiniak Hwy. to the Saltery Cove Road to Bezonoe Road, right on Pasagshak Road. Park entrance on left at milepost 20 of the Pasagshak Road.
