LOCAL SECRET Great trail for snowshoeing if you want more solitude and less people around. Ample opportunities to make this into a long day hike as the trail branches off to other more extended trails. Lost Lake is a popular destination in the summer and even for the more sparse snow shoeing crowd. During the winter season you'll need to park on the side of the road and walk about a mile on snowpack or muddy road until you reach the trailhead. Make sure you stop off at Kathmandu in Nederland after your hike- as nothing beats a hot mug of chai and Nepalese food. If you leave extra early, complete a snowshoe and catch the lunch buffet. It's a tradition for me and my trail buddies.

A favorite trail for locals and visitors. Waterfalls on the trail and ends at Lost Lake.
