The Sandhill Cranes migrate here over the winter. An early morning visit during that time is an amazing experience. Dress warm!

This is a lovely place for bird watching and hiking. It is a short day trip from Albuquerque, about a hour and a half south, right off I-25

A bird watchers paradise, especially in the winter months during migrations.

About 90 minutes south of Albuquerque, is the Bosque del Apache, a place for observers of wildlife and birds. Come in the Fall, when the wildlife is most abundant! Swing by the Range Cafe on your way out, or even Subway which is also on Rio Grande, and take a lunch!

It's worth the drive and you will not be disappointed with all the migratory birds that frequent this place. If you hit it right the geese coming into roost at sunset fill the skys.
