Pubs ! My personal favourites: John McGings on high street. No tv ! Music some Friday nights in the pub. Sometimes Mr Whippy (Don’t ask) Dj out the back, Moran’s on Bridge Street – its looks like a shop. Matt Mulloy’s – Westport’s most famous pub. Bridge Street. Great music session in the back bar. Not bad for a quite pint and a read of the paper while others may be shopping. Owned by one of the Chieftains (if you have not heard of them look for ‘The long black veil’ on YouTube). And while you’re at it look up Coda singing

Good Music, especially the Clew Bay Critters on Thursday nights and jazz the last Saturday of the month. Lots of other good music there too (Counterfeits, Hot Pocket Trio and more)
