The Southern Most point of the African continent, a local must see. Surrounded by nature, boardwalks and the popular monument in the shape of Africa. Located in Agulhas NP.
Lighthouse tours are available, weather permitting. You can go all the way to the top. The views are amazing! The Cape Agulhas Lighthouse is situated at Cape Agulhas, the southernmost tip of Africa. It was the third lighthouse to be built in South Africa, and the second-oldest still operating, after Green Point. It is only 3.6km from Bakgat.
Southernmost Tip Of Africa where the Indian and Atlantic oceans meet.
for a windy, rainy day...go for a daytrip to the Southernmost Tip of Africa. It is approximately 75 minutes drive (77km) from Pearly Beach, but keep in mind that there is some gravel road en-route and allow for extra time as there might be road maintenance or the odd cattle/sheep been driven from one end of the road to the other. While doing the trip, you can also stop at the Aghulhas Lighthouse. On your way back from the lighthouse, why not stop at the Black Oyster Catcher Wine farm - excellent wines with great food!
