Lake Tikitapu also known as the Blue Lake. Approximately, 10-15 minute drive from our Airbnb. Great place to be during the summer.

This fresh blue water lake is a tourist destination! Beautiful views of the lake and redwoods forest! Learn about the history of our beautiful blue and green lake! Catch a bus to Rotorua from the bus stop, prices range from $40-$70 per ticket bus also has wifi! Stay at a small hotel down Rotorua and experience the highest tourist place in NZ. Have a small bbq and relax in the sun while the kids play in the shallow water on the edge.

The Blue Lake is stunning, especially on a still morning. There is a gorgeous 5km walk around the lake, which goes through native bush and pines. Partway round you can see the contrast in colours between the Blue and Green Lakes.
