A wild 4 day rafting trip thru the backcountry where you’re guaranteed to see bears, eagles and maybe even a cougar. You need a permit and rafting experience or to go with a registered outfitter. Reserve your spaces early because these usually develop a wait list. There’s also rafting along the gentler parts of the river thru outfitters in Shady Cove....not so imperative to book ahead and this is a nice way to spend a hot summer day. If you go on the wild and scenic we would store your luggage if you book with us before and after your rafting trip.

Take a trip on the wild side. White water rafting at its best!

Just 20-30 minutes away from Golden Lodge, the Rogue River, a popular, whitewater river, can be accessed from the towns of Grants Pass or Merlin. Rafting, kayaking and swimming on the Rogue are favorite summertime activities. Visitors may experience the river as a private, self-guided group or as passengers of a fully outfitted, commercially guided trip. There are many raft rental companies to choose from in the town of Merlin. Driving along the river or hiking the 40 mile Rogue River National Recreation Trail are other sought after adventures. Imagine spending a day hiking one of the country's most pristine and remote wilderness canyons. Find yourself surrounded by ferns and lush vegetation at one moment and later on amongst expansive, old-growth oak and cedar groves. About every quarter mile, creeks flow under bridges, giving you an opportunity to sit in the shade. Hike past water falls and sparkling creeks, while spotting bald eagles, osprey, and blue heron. Turtles, geese, river otter, and black bear are common sights.
