A must see if visiting Castleisland, you can tour the spectacular cave, enjoy a meal or coffee in their Garden Restaurant, browse the beautiful gift shop and finally - exhaust the kids in their large play centre.

Discovered by cave divers in 1983, Crag Cave is an all weather tourist attraction and is thought to be over a million years old. It is formed of limestone and showcases an ancient fossil cave system. The cave was once filled with water, which eroded the limestone rock into a maze of carved tunnels and chambers. Small drips of water into the cave left behind crystals which formed the many features in Crag Cave, including a colorful wonderland of stalactites and stalagmites. These delicate formations are an outstanding feature of the cave and make it the most exciting showcave in Ireland.

Indoor play area, cafe and separate Cave in Castleisland. A few minutes drive from Beechwood. The play area is very popular for children’s parties or as an indoor play area on a rainy day. The cave is well worth visiting as part of guided tour. Lovely cafe and gift shop too.
