The Louisbourg Fortress is a must see sight. It is about 1 1/2 hr. drive from our location. It’s an excellent view into the past when England and France were fighting for control of the New World. It is well worth the drive but try to pick a sunny day to do so.

Costumed animators, fascinating exhibits, breathtaking scenery, and coastal trails offer unforgettable experiences for all travelers. Upon entering the Fort after crossing the bridge be careful that the patrol do not stop you and threaten prison time for whatever reason they deem worthy.

Walk through history by strolling through the town and battlements and chatting with the soldiers and townspeople of this 18th century settlement. Can even have some authentic 18th century fare. Don not miss for history buffs.
