It is mind blowing that in 100 degree weather just a short walk down some stairs there is a frozen pond in the middle of the desert.

The Ice Cave and Bandera Volcano is an area that offers a close up view of two unusual natural phenomenom - 1. A cave that ice in it all year around and has for several hundred years. 2. The Bandera Volcano Crater - part of the Chain of Craters. There are a total of 27 volcanic cones. The last erruption was about 6,000 years ago.
