Cod Beck Reservoir is beautiful and only a short walk up the road from the cottage. There is also two car parks if you want to drive there. It has a footpath right around which is flat and suitable for peaks/pushchairs and wheelchairs. It has areas to sit and have lunch and enjoy the scenery. The ice cream van will often be in the car park on a nice day.

Cod Beck Reservoir is a man-made lake situated within the North York Moors National Park and near the village of Osmotherley in the English county of North Yorkshire. The reservoir is named after Cod Beck, which is the small river that fills it

20 minute drive. Or cycle on quiet country roads. Beautiful lake and woodland area next to the village of Osmotherley. Good area for walking and mountain biking.

Just up the hill and on the way to Osmotherley - a circular loop around a lovely reservoir - parking available. Be warned though, it can be very very busy on a sunny day. Parking tickets if you park on the road side have not been unknown. Many other walks sprout off from here.

Beautiful reservoir great for a circular walk or cycle, just above the village of Osmotherly.
