Sinclair and Girnigoe castles are a must see on a visit to Wick and the best is you enjoy the best of highland hospitality in the fact that they’re free to enter!

Beautiful castle with stunning views over Sinclair Bay and the Orkney Islands. Be careful with small children as there are some very steep slopes leading to the shore. Wear suitable foot wear outwith summer months.

Located by Staxigoe outside Wick, this castle sits precariously on a cliff edge! Park next to Ross Head Lighthouse and walk to the castle – there are some fascinating information boards along the way. The castle can be reached by a new footbridge and is a great place to explore.
