Caldas is a 5min train ride from SMP. When leaving the train station walk straight until you reach the church and turn right, walk directly into the town center. Fantastic outdoor fruit and veg market and wonderful shopping. Make sure you go to Dom Carlos 1 Park, small pond, museum, playgroud, cafe and walking.

Caldas is a great town for a visit. It has a beautiful park located near city center. Make sure you'll visit in the morning when the daily fruit market starts in the main square!

The daily market that takes place in the centre of Caldas is a worthwhile visit if you want to experience the most traditional routines of Portuguese life or to purchase fresh fruit, vegetables, salad, fish and deli-style products for your own cooking. The market begins very early and is usually packed away by midday so get there early to see everything on offer.
