Sidney on the Sea is a lovely little town a half hours drive from Victoria. Take this ferry (from downtown) to Sidney Spit – a beautiful little island with white sandy beaches.

Got a few hours free to spend on the beach. Head on the little island ferry to Sidney Island and Sidney Spit. In the Summer there's an ice cream vendor and occasionally a hot dog stand but it's best to pack drinks and food. It's one of the favourite spots for the local dolphins to appear but there's no guarantee of that. Ferry times are on the board on the Pier next to the Pier Bistro. Plan to be there at least 2 hours. 3.5km or a 7 minute drive away.

Take the ferry from here over to Sidney Spit! It is a must. Beautiful white sandy beaches, the raw beauty of the west coast! We spend lots of time here in the summer!
