Puppetry museum with exhibits on the Portuguese marionette & evolution of the theatrical art form.
In addition to a huge collection of traditional Portuguese puppets, this Puppet Museum has in its collection a significant collection of Southeast Asian puppets, as well as others related to African and Brazilian ancestry. A great program to achieve in the family.
Part of Portuguese culture, the marionette has been present from town fairs to theatre and even political satire on TV. A different and fun experience especially for the young ones.
This Museum is located in the Convent das Bernardas, constituting the first and only museum space in the national panorama, entirely dedicated to the interpretation and dissemination of the history of puppetry and diffusion of puppet theater.

“Barraca takes more than forty years of activity. On this stage there are classics for schools, fresh news for all ages, imaginary talks among great figures of history. Be sure to check out the bar, party scene, book presentations and other initiatives.”

“ Chiara Ferro is a full-fledged Italian cook who knows the cuisine of her home country until her marrow, but do not get her to stick pizzas that are not there in the Osteria. There are meatballs, a Sicilian bread lasagna and other dishes on the Osteria line, more tasca style, at the right prices and a relaxed atmosphere. Perfect for: discovering what the Italians understand as "tasca". Mandatory to taste: pasta al pesto di rapa rossa, that is, pesto de beterraba.”
