It is a wonderful recreational area within 5 minutes walk with a lake, plenty of barbeque and picnicking spots overlooking the main river and the skyline of Surfers Paradise. There is an amphitheatre for concerts and cinemas, art gallery and cafes. Also Sunday morning Farmers' Markets with food trucks and entertainment.

There’s always something on at HOTA! New installations/exhibits pop up regularly, and there’s usually something interesting and hands on for the kids too.
