Very, very off the beaten path, and about 45 minutes away in Groesbeck, Old Fort Parker is a massive multi-acre reproduction of mid 1800s Texas log fort, built on the site of the original Fort Parker, of Cynthia Ann Parker fame, captured mother of Quanah Parker, the last of the Comanche War Chiefs. Robertson County in the Texas Republic days was the definition of the Wild West. Check out their events calendar during holiday season, and call ahead for operating hours.

Come learn the neighborhood's history by visiting the Old Fort Parker Historic Site

Come to the reconstructed log fort and see what the frontier was like for the settlers of the Texas prairie. Great experience, especially for the young ones to learn history where it was made.
