A registered Thing site which encompasses ancient Viking sites. Tynwald Hill is the site of an 800 year old annual open air parliamentary ceremony held on the 5th July every year making it the oldest continuously running parliament in the world!

The famous Tynwald hill where parliament sits on 4th July overhear and the Manx laws are read. The hill itself is made up of earth from each parish on the island. ps. Tynwald is of Norse origin and over 1,000 years old, and is thus the oldest parliament in the world with an unbroken existence.

Site of Tynwald, longest continuous running Parliament in the world. The Manx Government hold a ceremony here once a year.
