You have to take the Road to Hana to get here--which is an experience in and of itself--but this church is where Charles Lindbergh (the 1st person to fly solo across the Atlantic) is buried.

Charles Lindbergh is famous for his non-stop solo flight across the Atlantic Ocean in 1927. He moved to Maui and settled in the remote area of Kipahulu, retiring in the 1970s and was buried in 1974. Many visit his graveside to pay their respects at the Palapala Ho'omau Church. The famous church was built in 1857 and still stands along Maui's lush coastline.
