Be sure to take water and keep in mind this trail is very long and it can get really hot, especially on a summer day.

Oat hill mine across to the palisades mountains to table rock, is the best and toughest hike next to Yosemite.

If you find yourself in the Calistoga area on a winery excursion but also want to squeeze in a quick but scenic workout, this hiking trail is a great option. Some consider the terrain to be a bit challenging (I didn't think so but every person is different) so do keep that in mind.

Oat Hill Mine Trail is a 14.1 mile heavily trafficked out and back trail that features beautiful wild flowers and is rated as moderate. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
