Trout Pond is 15 miles from the cabin and has a campground, picnic area, and lake with a swimming beach, and some nice trails, including to the Lina Constable Overlook.

Trout Pond, home to native Brook trout, is the only natural lake in West Virginia. A designated swimming area, easy lakeside trails, and a children's playground make this a perfect family destination. Hike the Trout Pond Loop trail, an easy 4-mile excursion, with an optional 2-mile side route, to an overlook of Rockcliff Lake. For a more challenging hike, a connecting trail provides a steep climb up Long and Devil's Hole Mountains. Check there website for seasonal hours.

This beautiful man made lake is about 15 minutes away and is a great place to spend a day chilling on the beach, fishing, boating or taking one of its many hiking trails. There's a small fee to park but it's well worth it. Pack something to grill and use one of its many pavilions and grills provided free of charge.

Great hiking, nature hikes, playgrounds and a sandy beach into the lake for swimming.
