What a view! Drive up above Boone to this park and take a look at grand vistas! It's the closes place to Boone with a stellar view, and there's no hike to get there- especially good for folks with limited mobility. Closed for the winter, so check the dates before you head up!

An easy 5-minute drive from downtown Boone, Howard’s Knob is the perfect picnic or sunset-watching spot. Grab some provisions from Wildwood Community Market and enjoy the views.

A Place with a View of Boone! Howard Knob, or Howard's Knob as the locals call it, is well known to the citizens of Boone and Watauga County. It rises 4,396 feet up and is a bit over 1,000 feet above Boone. You have a great view of the town, Appalachian State University and down the valley. The small park is managed by the Watauga Parks and Recreation and has places to picnic for a great family outing. To get there go to 604 Howards Knob Rd, Boone.
