Srednja vas is a small village in the municipality of Bohinj. It's ideal starting point for short walks, cycling or hiking. The cycling path leads directly from the village towards the Lake Bohinj and Bohinjska Bistrica.
Grocery shop, restaurants and post office are located in the village.
Not far from the settlement, the Ribnica stream forms two Ribnica waterfalls, which are about a 30-minute walk from the village. In Srednja vas is also small Bohinj Cheese Factory, where you can buy the famous Bohinj cheese, grated cheese and sweet cream. Bohinj cheese is one of the most recognizable products of Bohinj, which has been produced since 1873. It has been a protected trademark since 1999.

Uskovnica is an Alpine pasture on Pokljuka plain in the Bohinj area, it belongs to the village Srednja vas. There is also a mountain hut with traditional Slovenian food. From Uskovnica is a beautiful view of the nearby mountains. Uskovnica is ideal starting point for many hiking tours.
It's accesible by car from Srednja vas (8 km dust-road, parking place is 15 minutes from mountain hut) or from Rudno polje.

Car, bus or bicycle
In the summer time there is a lot of people in the center of Bohinj (Lake Bohinj, Ribčev Laz), so there may be a problem with free parking spaces. We recommend to use bicycles from us, which are free of charge. You can also buy a card of the Julian Alps, which allows you free parking, free
entrance fees , free bus and more. The card is payable, it can be purchased at the info center near the Lake.
It is also advisable to use free public transport in the summer to the Lake Bohinj, Bohinjska Bistrica, Savica waterfall, mountain pasture Blato and Rudno polje.
