The selections here can be enjoyed solo, or in a group with family and friends.
Simply relaxing at City Dock is a major reason why people visit Annapolis. Take in the sunshine while sitting outside at one of several dining establishments that allow you watch the boats cruise in and out of Ego Alley. City Dock also plays host to a handful of Annapolis’ biggest events. Head to City Dock in April and catch the Annapolis Spring Sailboat Show – the largest in-water boat show in the world; be dazzled by massive pyrotechnic displays on New Year’s Eve or the Fourth of July; or pull up a chair and catch the St. Patrick's Day Parade in March or the Military Bowl Parade in December. It's also the launching point for most of Annapolis' water tours.

This memorial includes the Kunta Kinte storytelling sculptures, the Story Wall, and the Compass Rose. Located near the City Dock, this is the nation's only site that recognizes and names an individual slave's arrival. Alex Haley's iconic character from his novel Roots was based on his real-life ancestor who was born in 1750 in Gambia.

In my opinion, this is the best park in this area. A day pass cost $6. It has a wide range of things to do within a beautiful setting between Harness Creek and South River. There are extensive hiking trails, and six mile of paves trails for bicycles, running, walking, many which lead to break taking scenic overlooks. There is a dog park, a playground for the children, pavilions with near by grills, and a place to go canoeing and kayaking. Let me know if you're interested in visiting Quiet Waters Park and I'll have your pass ready.

Bring your strollers for walking around downtown

You should definitely bring your strollers for the kids to make it easier to get around downtown. The streets can get a little busy and it makes it that much easier to get to where you're going.
