The park’s one mile sandy beach provides plenty of room for enjoying a variety of beach activities. The south beach potion is designated for swimming and protected with lifeguards from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays, weekends and holidays, Memorial Day to Labor Day. During the late summer months there may be jellyfish. A bathhouse is located near the beach and provides park users with restrooms and showering facilities. Snack food, beach and picnic supplies are also available at the South Beach area of the park and the Marina Store by the boat ramps. Metal detectors are permitted on the beach and in swimming areas during park hours from the day after Labor Day through the Friday before Memorial Day.

Less than 15 minutes away from Annapolis, this Park is a great place to visit! It is located on the shores of Chesapeake Bay, this beautiful state park offers a range of activities for visitors. Many flock here for the mile of sandy beach, a good place for families, with lifeguard stations, a bathhouse, food concessions, and beach supplies. There is also a playground near the beach, as well as picnic areas and a pavilion for larger groups. Park facilities also include a marina with boat rentals.

The 786 acre Sandy Point State Park is on the west side of the Bay Bridge about 12 miles from the Kent Island Beach Houses by car. Recreational activities include Swimming Beaches, Picnicking, Fishing, Crabbing, Boating, Hiking, Youth Group Camping, Areas of Historical Interest and Wildlife Viewing. The Park also offers a marina store and boat rentals. Experience the annual Christmas Lights on the Bay every Dec/Jan. Many make it a tradition and it could be the winter escape you have been yearning! Take the Plunge!
