"Greengables" welcomes you to our 3rd generation sheep farm on the banks of the Mataura River, famous for its Brown Trout fishery. We are 15 minutes from Gore & 10 minutes from Riversdale. Our Airbnb apartment is upstairs in a separate wing of the homestead so you have complete privacy. The homestead is set in mature gardens with lots of birdlife. We offer homegrown organic fruits and jams for your breakfast. We also offer a packed lunch. Sheep farm & Dairy farm tours are available on request.

My place is close to Town of Gore,Hokonui hills,Dolomore park,Mataura river,Croydon bush. You’ll love my place because of the cosiness, the views,peacefulness. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers, and furry friends (pets). We are 2 hours south from Queesnstown, 1,5 hours from Te Anau and 1,5 hours from the Catlins...and 1 hour from the sea...(Invercargill). 35 minutes from Tapanui, where you can do also amazing walkes.... Continental breakfast is included.

Our fully self contained apartment has off street parking, is North facing, and overlooks the famous Brown Trout Statue in Gore. There is a very pleasant small park where the statue is placed, and our apartment overlooks all that area. Look forward to a pleasant stay with lots of facilities and places to look at close to hand. Welcome to our family holiday home in the historic gold mining town of Waikaia, Southland which is within easy walking distance of the Museum and the must see Bottle House. Also in close proximity are fantastic walks with amazing views, golf course across the road and access to fishing and goldmining in the Waikaia River. The local Pub and Dairy/Cafe (WiFi available) are within easy walking distance with great customer service and light or sit-down meals available.
