In theory, under Louis XIV, everyone could come in versailles if he was wearing a hat and a sword (and it was possible to rent that at the front door !) The famous Chateau de Versailles should be on your list and it's only 30min RER C (local train) ride from our flat.

RER C from saint-Michel, direction Versaille Chateau. then 7 minutes by walk there. There are some musical and fontaibe show during the summer.

Versailles is world renowned for a reason. If possible to spend a full day discovering not only the main chateau, but also the full grounds and Marie Antoinette residences, highly recommended.
