The Kamakhya Temple (কামাখ্যা মন্দিৰ) is a Hindu temple dedicated to the mother goddess Kamakhya, one of the oldest of the 51 Shakti Pithas, situated on the Nilachal Hill in western part of Guwahati city in Assam, India.

Very beautiful and wonderful design of the temple, it is located above 500 feet(approx) of Brahmaputra river. It is one of the biggest temple of northeast india. You must visit at least once. Visit on normal days rather than weekends or public holidays to avoid rush.
Its a famous pilgrimages in India , more particularly Assam and is nestled in the Nilachal Hills and was built in the midieval period. On the top of Kamakhya temple is the Bhubaneswari temple , from where you can observe a panoramic view of the entire Guwahati city.
