For a selection of English books and media you can go a little further away, to Berlin's own American Memorial Library. You are free to enter and read a book without a library card - these are required only to rent the books. It is also a good spot to get some work done, as it is quiet. Open Mon - Sa, from 10:00 to 21:00.
