Great morning walk from the loft, and yummy coffee. If you want a coffee to go, you'll need to bring your own mug. Otherwise have a cup and sit in or out on the patio.
located on the grounds of Grand Traverse Commons and a short walk from your front door.
Also in the Historic Grand Traverse Commons, grab your joe/tea here before you enjoy shopping in the Mercato, located in the famous Building 50!
Higher Grounds is the best place to sit and enjoy a coffee. This cafe not only serves some of the most delicious coffee but they are environmentally conscious at every level. In the summer I love their lavender lattes. Bring your own mug or enjoy your coffee outside on their patio!

“Located at the former Northern Michigan Asylum (now The Village at Grand Traverse Commons) Left Foot Charley is the only urban tasting room in the area. Set up on the shady patio with a glass of wine (or two) and listen to some great live music, or take in the historical architecture of Building 50.”

“Located in the historic former Northern Michigan Asylum, Red Spire is absolutely a local favorite. This is where to go for a classic american breakfast done really well. Their staff are so friendly, the atmosphere is bright, and the cinnamon rolls are huge! Take a leisurely stroll around the mercato shops after your meal.”

“This used to be a secret little spot, but you will have to battle some crowds. Worth it though. Walk around the first lake you come to, North Bar, and head over the dunes to spectacular Lake Michigan. Restrooms are a ways from the beach. The walk in is about 1/4 mile, maybe a little more.”

“Rain or shine this is a great place to stop in! Gorgeous gifts, plants and what-not. You can build your own terrarium! Grab a coffee at the BLKMRKT next door, and explore some of the other shops in the "warehouse district"!”
