Florida-fusion-inspired cuisine and crafted cocktails in a polished, casual atmosphere within the old jail in historic downtown Sanford. Established in 1890. Originally built in 1890. It functioned as the old Seminole county jail and remained vacant for over 45 years before being repurposed into a restaurant.

Slightly upscale dinner experience, though if you come earlier in the afternoon it is more casual and you can hit happy hour, which includes discounts on a few of the appetizers and beer. This place has very cool atmosphere because it used to be the jailhouse. You can get slightly fancy foods here, such as filet mignon and scallops. Dinner here would likely run $80-100 if you're drinking. It's located right across the street from Celery City Beer Garden, so it's easy to make an afternoon of it here.

Was actually was a jail! Lots of Memorabilia and an incredible dining experience ! Highly recommend! Great chef frequently changes up the menu’s and always delivers impressive dishes ! Always busy.... call ahead .... You may need to make reservations! Looking for a good time without getting locked up? Go to the Jailhouse!

The Old Jailhouse is one of our favorite restaurants in DT Sanford. It is the historic jailhouse in Sanford where you can eat in and around the jail cells, beautiful full bar, gorgeous brick work throughout, the atmosphere is divine and the menu changes often based on chef's choice! Reservations are recommended.
