Beautiful cafe, just on the outskirts of the town. Ideal place to have lunch then a nice walk to Caerlaverock Castle through the wetland.

The Boathouse sits on the quayside of Glencaple, about 14 miles from the cottage. It overlooks the River Nith with stunning views of Criffel. An ideal place to stop for lunch or coffee and a cake if you are exploring the nearby Caerlaverock Castle or Wetland Centre. Evening Meals are served on a Friday and Saturday evening. Booking is recommended for evening meals and weekend lunches to avoid disappointment. Vegetarian options are available.
