Artis is Amsterdam's zoo and the oldest zoo in the Netherlands. The zoo is located in the city centre!
In my opinion no animal should be in captivity. The only reason I put the zoo in my list is that I hope you will not go here. I don't judge you if you do :).
A very nice historic city zoo. Local people (and not only children) frequently visit this place.
Artis is a very old and therefore charming city zoo, great to visit with kids. There are lovely gardens to picknick in, or fun playgrounds for the kids to play as well.

“During more than 100 years Amsterdam dominated the world trade in the 17 century. Trade took place by ship and it is said that for every 3 ships two of them were Dutch. The Republic also had a fierce navy and in the maritime museum you can learn all about this glorious past. You can also visit the 17 century ship "Amsterdam" that lies in front of the museum. ”
