Relatively close overlook on the parkway. Take a picnic to have on the lawn or hike 1/2 mile up trail to overlook. Short but moderately challenging. M

Waterrock Knob Trail is a 0.9 mile heavily trafficked out and back trail located near Waynesville, North Carolina that features beautiful wild flowers and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking, nature trips, and bird watching and is best used from April until October. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.

Even if you don't hike, the views from the parking lot are stunning. It is only 30 minutes away from the cabin and you will not regreat!

Waterrock Knob is one of the prettiest overlooks in the area. Picnic tables available too. You can hike up or just enjoy the views from the spacious parking area. Worth the drive up!

Moderate hike with lots of rocks but worth the view!! Bathrooms and giftshop available near parking lot.
