Take a relaxing bike or snowmobile ride down the 48 mile trail that goes as far south as Kewaunee.

Great place to ride bike or walk. This was an old railroad line that was changed into a scenic trail

This 30-mile crushed-stone recreational trail connects Casco Junction to Algoma to Sturgeon Bay. Enjoy biking, horseback riding (April 15 to November 15), walking, running, snowmobiling, snow shoeing and cross country skiing. Dogs permitted with a 6 foot leash. No fee for use.

More than a century since railroad bells were rung and train whistles blown for the first time, quiet has returned to the Kewaunee and Door County countryside. A “rails to trails” conversion has removed the tracks. During spring, summer, and fall hikers, bikers, horseback riders, and horse-drawn carts and wagons share the trail. In winter, snowmobiles, fat bikes, cross country skiers, and snowshoers whisk across its frosty surface. The Ahnapee State Trail spans about 50 miles between Kewaunee, Casco, Algoma and Sturgeon Bay. The 8 to 10 foot wide trail has a firm surface for hiking, trail bikes and horseback riding. During the winter the trail is used especially by snowmobilers – though cross-country skiing is also permitted – and interconnects with 95 miles of snowmobile trails in Kewaunee County and 275 miles of trail in Door County.
