[15min Drive] Salamis, one of the oldest ancient cities in Cyprus, is open to visitors today with its history dating back to an average of 2000 years. It has worn out over time and has been damaged by the effects of natural disasters. Among the structures that you can visit and examine in the ancient city are Salamis Gymnasium, ancient theatre, Roman houses, Epiphanios Basilica, Zeus Altar, Cellarga Mass Tombs, agora and Nicocreon Monument. Salamis Ancient City is open every day of the week. It can be visited between 08:00 and 15:30 in winter and between 08:00 and 19:00 in summer. It is a 15-minute drive from the villa. The entrance fee to the Ancient City of Salamis is an average of one dollar.

The grounds all around the ruins are free for walking and hiking. It is quite amazing to wander and discover bits of ruins peeking through the greenery. Be mindful that there is one local snake that is poisonous and active during the summer months.
