November-March Ice Skating in the park. If barreling across the rink isn’t your scene, grab a cup of hot chocolate or coffee, and stay toasty as you watch the activity on the ice. It’s like something from a Currier & Ives print, and its heaps of fun whether you’re on the ice or just watching.

Kelsey-Hutchinson park offers wonderful activities, from live music in the summer months, to ice skating at Christmas time (they also have beautiful decorations!). Check their website for other events, or simply go to enjoy a nice day outside. The town of Highlands provides free wi-fi, which also makes this a great spot to work remotely while the kids play.
