There is soo much wilderness right outside of the city. It might be worth it to rent a car for a day or two and take a trip down our breathtaking scenic highways.

If you plan to do a lot of traveling, rent a car, the city of Anchorage is larger than the State of Rhode Island and the public transportation system may not get you anywhere.
