Ross Creek Cedar is a grove of western red cedars, some of which are more than 8 feet in diameter. An interpretive walking tour, slightly less than a mile in length, explains the area ecology and history. Visitors to northwest Montana often find an ancient forest rivaling the spectacular beauty of the giant sequoias of northern California. Some trees in the grove are more than 400 years old. Many of western red cedars are more than 8 feet in diameter and loom 175 ft above Ross Creek. The turnoff to the Ross Creek Cedars is found a half mile past the south end of Bull Lake off Montana Highway 56 - known locally as the Bull Lake Road. A 4-mile long, paved windy road climbs to the parking area

Ross Creek Cedars is a 100-acre scenic area that is home to a grove of giant, ancient western red cedars. The loop through the grove is about a mile and it is flat. On your way back down from Ross Creek, you'll be treated to an amazing view of the Cabinet Mountains.

Ross Creek Cedars has gorgeous sights to see with it's giant cedars! This has an easy walking path, making it manageable for most to enjoy. Some cedars are hollowed out or lying on the ground and make great photo opportunities.
