It runs all year round fully integrated in the public transport system as tramline number 60. You can use it by validating a single ticket, or with a…

The Cogwheel Railway (Fogaskerekű) is among the more unique public transportation options in Budapest. The line first opened in 1874, so its red carriages are a somewhat nostalgic sight amongst the Buda scenery. It runs as tramline 60 from Városmajor Park up to Széchenyi Hill, through the Svábhegy…

“Great food in the daytime but also perfect to start the night with some drinks. Watching the party people come and go on Kiraly street will definitely put you in the mood for more drinks.”

“The Zugliget Chairlift (Libegő) is a fun, alternative mode of transport in the Buda hills. Transporting passengers between Zugliget and the road leading up to the Erzsébet Lookout Tower, the Chairlift takes you calmly up the side of János Hill in about 15 minutes – while providing panoramic views of the Buda surroundings. The Chairlift is operated by the city transport company BKK, a single ticket costing 1,000 HUF, return 1,400. It can be reached by taking bus 291 from Nyugati station to its final stop. Whether for a special date or just a relaxed outing in Buda – a trip on the Chairlift is a unique experience. And new features planned for 2019-20 should make the journey a bit more special in future.”
