Moderate Hike 4.7 miles round trip, not a lot of elevation gain and views of the lake and Mt. Elbert the entire way.

Inter-Laken is a closely held local's favorite, just 17 miles north of Buena Vista. The easy 2.5 mile hike in along the west side of Twin Lakes to the historic resort from the 1800's is amazing! Hiking in the summer and snow-shoeing in the winter you can take a picnic lunch and enjoy some of the most stunning scenery Colorado has to offer. The buildings are being renovated and you can now enjoy walking through the Dexter Cabin. Sign the guestbook and close the door behind you! But shhhh! Don't tell TOO many people about it!

RATED EASY. This walk is alongside the water, refreshing and gorgeous! Mostly flat but a few miles long and totally worth the visit if you can swing it. Really awesome old "resort" that Twin Lakes locals have been rehabbing. Check out the neat details in the buildings. Please don't go off the trail so we can preserve the artifacts as well as the wild sage!! :) And pack up what you bring in. Thanks!
