It's a historic and beautiful place. You can hike to the lookout or take a mull ride down to the village.

Have to reserve ahead of time a tour down to park. The hike is awesome! Children under 16 not allowed.

A small peninsula on the Hawaiian island of Molokai, Kalaupapa is an incredible example of how the meaning of a place can change over time. Once a quarantine site for those suffering from Hansen’s disease (leprosy), the park is now a gathering point for those affected by the disease, and visitors who want to see and learn. Kalaupapa is a refuge for those who’ve survived the disease and the isolation of life apart, as well as a safe, stunning, and evocative landmark and cultural touchstone.

Saint Damian's famed leper colony. Hike or take mule ride down scenic trail to the area, then board school bus for a very interesting and informative tour about this historic and beautiful peninsula.
