Local history relating to the Duke and Duchess of Sutherland and their involvement with the Highland Clearances. Guided tour of castle, worth a visit.
I believe it's one of the biggest if not THE biggest castles in Scotland. Very Baroque. I think it's best approached from the sea by kayak (go in at Golspie pier and it's a short paddle Northwards and there's a wee beach you can pull out and picnic on.), but if that's not your thing then go by car. There's incredible gardens and birds of prey displays. Inside are collections of stuffed animals and other very odd bits and pieces.

It's a great place to go and visit if you have the time Dunrobin Castle is the most northerly of Scotland's great houses and the largest in the Northern Highlands with 189 rooms. Dunrobin Castle is also one of Britain's oldest continuously inhabited houses dating back to the early 1300s, home to the Earls and later, the Dukes of Sutherland.
