A ride on train (seasonal) takes you around a landscaped park. The young(ish) ones will love it.

“Ness Islands are a small group of islands in the middle of the River Ness connected by Victorian Footbridges. They are perfect for an evening sroll or afternooon walk and are only a short walk from the city centre. Paths are suitable for all abilities. The walk takes about 1 hour and is approx 3 miles but can be shortened. It is an ideal loop for a leisurely 5k. It takes you past Whin Park, Inverness Ice Centre & Botanic Gardens and Inverness Cathedral. Enjoy a whole day out without using the car.”

“This the stone ruin you can see on top of the nearest hill. It represents the gates of Negapatam in India and was built in 1782 by General Sir Hector Munro, a local landowner, in order to provide employment for local people. There is a path up to the monument on the other side of the hill. ”
