“Want to grab a drink in the neighborhood and listen to some live music? Head over to the Old Point Bar, they will have you covered Thursdays-Sundays. It's situated alongside the levee, so you can also take your drink to the river and watch the boats go by. This bar is another local favorite, very down to earth, and interesting fact, it is the most filmed bar in the city! Make sure you stop in for a drink while you're in town.”

“This is the cutest, old fashioned coffee shop. It's located across the river in Algiers. If you have a car, you can take the bridge. Otherwise, hop on the ferry! The coffee shop is fun but also a starting destination for you to wander the quaint and hidden neighborhood of Algiers.”

Grocery or Supermarket
“Our little neighborhood market carries specialty food items like freshly baked artisan bread every day except Sunday & Monday, cheeses, cultured butter, local beer, and Thai curry dishes. They also have easy-to-prepare standard frozen food items too. Call in advance if you’re looking for something in particular since they’re not as completely stocked like a regular grocery store. They stock jambalaya mix by Jambalaya Girl, which would be a delicious souvenir! ”
