Great scenic overlook and view of Downtown Austin. Great for sunsets and nice uphill stair case that arrives to a fabulous scenic overlook of Lake Austin and native surrounding nature. There are also picnic tables for a little romantic time to share or gather with your family. It's an historic sight and a must see.

It's fun, It's like a vacation just going out to eat there, it's close by, it's on Lake Austin, boat dock and fabulous view, it's close by and a real easy drive, the food is really good 'Mexinesian' (Mexican / Polynesian) and the coconut shrimp and the fajitas have an island flair and are really out of this world delicious!

Thundercloud Subs are an Austin original and we have been getting the best local subs and salads and more for over 20 years! My family and many local Austin favorites!!! Italian sub, combo salad & their lemonade are our favorites!

Maudie’s has really good fresh light Mexican food. I like the veggie chile relleno because it is gluten free and delicious, fresh and filling. They have really good chips and salsa, too, and are in the neighborhood.

They now have Locations on Barton Springs Rd  close to Barton, springs pool and on Guadalupe Street in Austin which makes it more convenient for our visitors and locals. There is generally no wait, and it is old fashion in sides and servings,  easy to access and enjoy!!!

Parks, Pools and Nature
Barton Springs located in the heart of Austin Texas is an amazing natural spring cool refreshing and a must, especially for the hot summer days in Texas!!! It is vast and has a diving board, great for long lap swimmers and a sweet natural shallow end for children’s to catch tadpoles and explore and have a quick cool splash!!
Barton Springs Municipal Pool
2201 William Barton DrDeep eddy is a sweet, local favorite for lap swimmers. Interesting characters, a fabulous shallow end for children to splash and feel safe and easy to access get in and enjoy!!! There is also an entrance for handicapped at the bottom of the pool where they will allow entry from the main entrance.  This is where my children learn to swim, because the gradual incline of shallow to shoulder level for children makes them feel safe.  It is a natural spring and very cool and brisk perfect for hot summer days in Texas.  It has a Gorgeous mosaic mural depicting the early days of the  natural spring pool.  It is truly an Austin jewel and favorite for locals.
