Real nice cakes and empanadas--they even make vegetarian and tuna empanadas if you want to take a break from all the meat!

You can just go for the rotisserie chicken and have a nice dinner; but if you feeling adventurous go all the way back where the Cockfight Arena is. There is a +/-10 dollars entrance fee which you have to pay even if you only want to take a peek.

This is only if you love olives and olive oil. This place is located on Doña Elsa, between Doña Delmira and Jr Tacna--just half block away from the apartment. You can get a kilo of olives por 8 soles!! However, I recommend the 10 soles / kilo, because they have a higher demand and are always nice and firm. Try the stuffed ones also--btw--you don't have to buy a kilo, get a 1/4 kilo if you want. The place opens around noon and stays open till 10pm, but the owner lives above the place so if you are in extreme need of olives just bang on the door and someone will come to help you out. BTW Doña Elsa is not the name of the place, just couldn't tag it any other way.

Sightseeing

Real nice place to go back in time. Go to Surco Viejo on a weekend evening to take a peek at what Lima used to be. Get a traditional sweet [other than mazamorra and rice pudding] from one of the many food carts in the square. There are also artisans selling friendship bracelets and many other arts and crafts. The place is never crowded and people is super friendly.

Parks & Nature

This is only if you are feeling really really adventurous! The place is a blast! There are little shacks offering extremely fresh fish. Playa Pescadores means fishermen beach. And you will see a bunch of fishing boats all over the place--getting on a boat to take you for a ride is about 10 soles per person [about 3 dollars]. There is an abundance of pelicans all over the place. Go there with a local or treat your taxi driver for a bite, it is real cheap and good! Best time to go is early afternoon.
