Just five minutes from the house. Beautiful, well manicured trail, with lots of shady cedars and live-oak trees. Loops can range from one mile to 13 miles, depending on how ambitious one is! We go to this park almost every night after work just to get some quick exercise and fresh air.

Unique hike with beautiful 360 views from the top. During summertime, recommend getting there early to avoid the heat (as there is very little shade), then heading back to Fredericksburg (downtown) for lunch and browsing antique shops.

Probably the most high-end mall in the area: Nordstrom, Macy's, H&M, Abercrombie, Barnes and Noble, Apple, Microsoft, Tiffany, Tory Burch, Pottery Barn, Tumi, and much more. Great indoor/outdoor feel. Tons of great restaurants too.

Rent your cruiser bike from these kiosks for about $10/day (unlimited) as long as you check your bike into a station every 30 minutes. We enjoy biking along the San Antonio Mission Trail, and checking out all the five missions by bike!

The farmers market (weekend mornings) is great fun. Great restaurants (Supper, Southerleigh, Cured, Bakery Lorraine, etc). Highly recommend the (free) walking tour (offered 2-3 times a day) of the Pearl Brewery. We've done it several times with out-of-town guests, and we still enjoy it!
