Our favorite beach for children, as it's small, sheltered, and dog-free. It's an easy walking distance from the house, but consider bringing a stroller for younger kids, as the walk back up is steep!

A great local playground with a gated area for toddlers (with sand pit) and a separate play area for bigger kids. There is also one tennis court and a handful of basketball courts here.

Kid-friendly Japanese restaurant serving sushi and other dishes. Our kids love the Ramen and edamame (figures, right?). Grown ups should try the fried chicken skin or the fried octopus as an appetizer to their sushi.

FroYo by the pound! This hidden Central Richmond gem is pretty small shop with only two yogurt machines, but they always have original tart and a wide array of toppings. Check store hours before showing up, as they open in the afternoon.

Imperial rolls are reliably good, as are the bun and rice dishes. The kids get a kick out of drinking water from a fresh coconut when we come here.
The best barbeque pork bun in the City. The kids love the hot dog buns here, too. Some patrons stay here all day long gossiping in Chinese. Definitely a local spot.
